We warmly welcome you to Ruurlo. The surroundings of Hampshire - Hotel Avenarius are perfect for a few days of walking and cycling. The Achterhoek region is renowned for its excellent walking and cycling opportunities. With its expansive forests, numerous trails, and beautiful scenery, this area is ideal for exploring the outdoors.
At our hotel, we’re happy to provide you with detailed information about the region, and you can choose from a wide selection of free walking and cycling routes.
But there's more to discover. Just a few minutes’ walk away is Ruurlo Castle, home to the MORE museum (Modern Realism – featuring the Carel Willink collection).

At Hampshire Hotel – Avenarius, you are welcome to enjoy an extensive breakfast (with homemade jam!), a delicious lunch, and a full dinner. You can dine à la carte or order a set menu. The kitchen is internationally oriented and adapts to the seasons. Before you sit down for dinner in the evening, we recommend starting with an aperitif by the fireplace in the buffet room.
When the weather is nice, you can also enjoy your meal outdoors on the terrace.
Our restaurant is open 7 days a week from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with dinner served from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
